Nail Art... Sorta

One of the items on my 101 in 1001 was to give nail art a try... this was my first attempt! Please don't laugh... I did an accent nail in polka dots and I was very proud of myself! :) I used a dotting tool for the first time and it was easier than I thought it would be to do my left hand but harder than I thought it would be to do my right hand. The polka dots on my right hand are double the size of the ones on my left hand. Whoops! All in all, I am happy with the way it looks and got a few compliments at work too. Hooray!

  4. This is my favorite way to incorporate nail art into manicures...interesting and not over the top. Love the way it turned out, I may re-create this myself with other colors!

  6. Ah dotticures! Love it and the combination you chose!
Dots can be tricky in the sense that you have to learn how to keep the pressure similar to get the dots the same size, but what I say to myself everytime I make a dot is "Commit to the dot!". Instead of going slowly, I just do it! Also make sure that there is always a layer of polish between your nail and the dotting tool so that your dotting tool isn't what's actually touching your nail. Those are the tips that have helped me over the years!

  7. this is so cute! I really need to test out my dotting tools... I just love all my colours so much I end up not wanting to cover them up haha. I am getting some nail art stuff and want to do some more creative things with my nails though so I may be trying this out soon... should be interesting with my left hand!

    1. oooh i'd be excited to see some nail art posts from you! i'm always afraid i'll mess up my nails if i try anything and i'm so lazy that i'd hate to have to start over or have to figure out a way to fix them.
