Get Ready With Me - May 2013

Some of you may have seen this video already because I uploaded it a couple of weeks ago. I haven't been doing a good job keeping my blog and my YouTube channel in sync so I'll have to make more of an effort on that front! It's been a while since I've posted a get ready with me video so I thought I would record one since I've been using some different products lately. This was also the first time I curled my hair after cutting it. :)

Below is a list of the many, many products I used! This list has really ballooned since I started my YouTube channel, but everything has a purpose haha. I don't use this many products on a day-to-day basis (I don't wake up early enough to put on this much makeup) but when I have the time on the weekend, I like to use a wide range of products in my collection.

  1. You know, it didn't seem unreasonable when I originally watched this video, but that is a lot of products! Haha.

I don't use very many (yet) but I don't really do makeup yet either. Hopefully with enough helpful videos like this I'll be better at it, though I think I'm mostly likely to use a few products at a time, at least for now. I've mostly been using concealer and a spritz of something delicious :)

    1. my eyes bugged out a little as i compiled the list of products! :) i used to only use the basics - eyeshadow, mascara, and lip balm. crazy how much my routine has changed! i also used to hate putting on makeup - i viewed it as a chore. now i love it - i could sit and apply my makeup for an hour... i find it very relaxing haha. :)

    2. Yeah I think it's fine to use plenty of products as long as you are enjoying the process :) I know I find doing my nails really relaxing so I always change them up at least once or twice a week, but I enjoy doing it so it's not a chore. I think once I figure makeup out it'll be the same way, the only thing about it is that it requires having time in the morning which means getting up earlier :P

    3. you have such pretty nails!! it's so hard to wake up in the morning (maybe it's because i tend to stay up late)... but if i could somehow become a morning person, i would delight in putting on a full face of makeup every day. imagine all the products i'd go through then!! :)

  2. I just picked up the Principessa notte breeze dry shampoo when I was in Vancouver a few weeks ago. I've used it a couple of times and love it so far! I'll have to try using it with a brush though. I find putting it in your hands and then trying to get it into the roots wastes too much of the product!

    1. definitely try it with a brush or a powder puff (like the ones that come with drugstore pressed powders). i like using a powder puff because they're so easy to wash - just pop it in with your laundry every week. :)

  3. I love everything about your makeup, especially your eye makeup, and your hair! You're so beautiful! I have to invest in some good brushes.. but i'm too cheap right now >_>

I didn't notice how bare your eyebrows are! No offense, just wondering... did you used to pluck them or shape them or something before? Or did it thin out naturally as you got older?

    1. awww thank you!! haha no offense taken... i have very sparse eyebrows... i have since i was little. they used to be very sparse but wide though - i overplucked when i was in undergrad so now they're a lot thinner in width (and of course, still sparse). i definitely draw them in every day because they are so barely there! :)
