Our CBCF Donation

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who left a comment on my October Glymm bag review post. You may recall that I committed to donating $1 per comment left on this post in the month of October. I received 33 sweet comments but I also counted my responses back to you and rounded up to the nearest $10. Thus I was extremely happy to make a $70 donation to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation today, on behalf of all of us. Thank you again for taking the time to read and comment on my blog. Your support is so very appreciated. xx

Before I sign off today, I wanted to include a poster I saw online from iheartguts.com on breast self exams. I do these exams regularly and, around 15 years ago, I found a lump in my left breast. I was shocked and scared - I definitely did my routine self exams never thinking I would find anything. The next weeks and months were extremely stressful - I went through a series of tests (mammograms are very uncomfortable and awkward when you have barely any breast tissue) and the doctors eventually determined it was a cyst. Thankfully, the lump went away on its own but I still want to stress the importance of doing self exams regularly. It is generally recommended to do self exams monthly... I typically do them when I remember, which can be as frequently as every 2 weeks.
